October 2011

Hello from Greenwood, SC.

So far, we have spent a wonderful couple weeks in South Carolina. Had a rocky start with the trip this year. Mystie had some surgery and we had a little scare with my Honey Boy. Luckily and with the grace of God all are well and healthy. Thank you Jesus!!!!!!

We had some good times in Myrtle beach at the rally. Played lots of games (and tournaments) pegs and jokers, beanbag baseball and learned to play cribbage. Even sold a few of my gorgeous scarves (if I must say so myself) at the bazaar. Then had a great time with Deb and Dave O at the state park...more games and more food (oh yes, the food......Moooooo)

Now we are parked in a beautiful RV resort on Lake Greenwood. Wow, heaven. Even thinking about buying a lot here. Well we will see about that. Folks here are great. The fellow selling the lots (Doug) real nice guy. And, Lizzy and Michael live and hour and a half away. We had a great visit with them yesterday. Had a lot of laughs. Love her so.

Today on to Savannah to meet the Taylor Boys for a mini reunion. Yay!!!!!!! Gotta run .........more to follow.

On the road again Nov 2010

Hello loyal followers,

Here we are again, this time mostly southern trekking. We spent a glorious week in Myrtle Beach (actually in Surfside Beach) after a slow start with a tooth emergency. Still made it to our destination of Gettysburg with a 4 hr late start. Yay. Weather is really great. Thinking we should stay a few more days next time. So much to see there.

We are now in a paradise called Hilton Head Harbor RV Resort. It is one of the nicest parks I have ever seen. Landscaping is awesome.

Chillin' in Bar Harbor Maine

Sept 12, 2011

We finally got to Maine after a horrendous trip. We spent a night in New Hampshire at a cute little campground that was up the hill and down the dirt road. Got in there after a turn down the "wrong" dirt road (dead end) mind you. We spent a nice night in Colebrook, NH. Gorgeous view of the mountains and the valley. Nice folks that own it. Got off to a great start in the morning but then.....got down to the end of the dirt road and found out too late we couldn't turn left on to the highway. Got the rig across two lanes and found we were hovering over a huge gully. Well, we stopped all traffic going both ways and I panicked.....poor Bob, and the way the car was turned we couldn't take the car off so we could back up.  luckily the both lanes and the dirt road people we held up for a half and hour were so nice. One guy said "don't worry we're really laid back here". Then we finally got back on track and the ride thru New Hampshire was really rough...bad roads and steep hills. OMG!!!!! Shook the liver out of the coach, my cupboards were a mess.

Now we are in Bar Harbor and the weather has been just perfect. So far we have had a lobster both days. Yum!!!!We are getting pretty good at tearing into them. I felt sorry for the poor thing the first day but he was yummy and I got over that when he was doused in butter (lol).

Going on a whale watch today as this will be the warmest day. Camp resort is really nice and people are great. Narrows Too it is called.

Here with Howie and Sandy Pitt. We are all having a great time. Learned a new card game called "bitchin rummy".  Fun and easy....two of my favorite things!!!!!

Let me go back a few days before I forget. We left Webster on Labor Day and stayed a couple of nights at Kring Pt....it was awesome...perfect weather and a sunset to kill for. I have never seen anything sooo gorgeous. Check it out on my facebook page. I will post pics here when my computer expert gives me a lesson. Yes, my darling baby boy......that would be you. oxoxoxo.

Anyhoo, then we spent 2 nights at Coles Creek near Massena. Two more gorgeous days and some fun at the casino. Weather was perfect.

Now we are up to date. As for cards we are even steven as far as the girls and boys go. Having a great time here in BH...our next stop is Wells Maine for a week. Then Cape Cod.

Our meal plan (WW) isn't up to par as we found an ice cream place and have had a cone 2 days in a row .......bad behavior for sure but think we are in our points range...just not the right kinds of points for sure. I am sure we have had too many ice cream and butter points. We need you Louann. The piper will have to be paid..

Found a Calvary Chapel 4 mi down the road.....went yesterday (9/11) so glad we did.. great service and prayed for all. Missing the boy something fierce. It was a tough day. But with support from friends and my sis, feel blessed to have so many wonderful people in my life.

So thats all the news for now.......have a great day and don't forget to count your blessings,  live each day to be the best of yourself. Now off to find another lobster ; ) <3 <3 dt

Home chillin' for a while

Jul 2011

Here we are home again with lots on our minds. We have to start making big decisions....to retire or not to retire (me) to sell or rent? Big decision. So are trying to get rid of the big stuff a little at a time.

Just got back from a weekend at 4 mile creek in Niagra Falls. Had a great time after the first day which was 1000 degrees and humid, and of course we got a site right in the sun. The second day turned out much better so all was well. I was sure I would have to spend the whole time sitting in the MH. They were a great group of folks and we had a good time. Did ok at the Casino. Stayed on the plan pretty good (had a buffet and an ice cream cone too...mmmmmmgood). The weigh-in tomorrow will tell the tale. Feeling good, no heartburn and more energy.

Busily planning our winter trip and have a few places locked in. Going to spend September in Maine with Sandy and Howie...should be fun. Those lobsters better run for the hills...we are coming with butter and crackers in hand.

Going to try and blog more as we start traveling. Just have to get my head together.

Loving the new digs.....it is just heaven. I am truly blessed. So till next time. BFN.......dt

Hilton Head November 14-22 Hilton Head Harbor RV Resort

OK so this place is so beautiful, right on the interCoastal and the landscaping is phenominal. The weather has been perfect every day and have no complaints. We took a Gullah Tour and learned a lot about the early slaves that settled here. It was great, and then on the way home we went to the Harbor Restaurant on Skull Creek and had the best seafood. Cutie waiter too, (did I write that out loud?)

Tomorrow morning moving on to Brunswick Ga to try a new RV resort, will let you all know. Yes I said you all......don't panic till I say y'all. Won't be long. Gettin' in to this southern lifestyle. Haven't been weighed since I left NY but there is a WW in Brunswick so I had better face the music, we haven't been all that good. Really don't want to undo all the good I did.

To make things worse Bob is a hungry heifer. LOL. Think it is just boredom. Anyhoo.....all this must come to a halt before we pork out like last year.

We will have the awning fixed in Ga and doggie is fine so nor glitches right now. Hope to be more active in the next place, only walked twice here so need to kick that one up.......leg hip and back not cooperating tho. Ouchie. Also legs very swollen right now. Cannot figure out just why. OK enough of that duffer talk......on to the next adventure........join me next time in Georgia

The end of Jan 2010

January 29th and we are camped in Sunshine RV resort for a couple days until our gig in Llano. The visit with Aunt Vicki was really good for my heart, felt like I was with my Mom for a little bit. She is such a mix of people I love, she's like Mom and a lot like Deb. She would give you the shirt off her back and she certainly cannot afford it. I love her and it was sad saying goodbye. A good time was had by all I think.

We are spiffing up the MH for our little trip to Mercedes. Even gave the girlies a bath. We shall arrive in Llano smelling good.

Not much fallout from the fall, boy am I a lucky duck or what? Could've been so much worse if a break or sprain or something. Thank God for little or not so little favors.

San Antonio-Jan 26th

Hey There...well here we are in New Braunfels, a quaint little german town near San Antonio. The weather was gorgeous yesterday and we went into San Antonio to the River Walk and to the Alamo. It was fantastic. Ate lunch at a restaurant called Michelinos. It was really good.

On the way out of the Alamo, ole Grace here, wasnt paying attention to where she was walking because there were a group of soldiers doing a promotional ad and I was trying to get a picture and up pops a curb in the middle of nowhere...oh yes I did a triple gainer right there on the plaza in front of the Alamo......me and Davy went down at the Alamo. Luckily I did a pretty good roll till I landed on my arse so not much damage was done. The worst damage was to my dignity. I wonder how many photos I will show up in later :(

It really was a great day, perfect weatherwise and the boat ride was great.

Have been visiting with Aunt Vicki and we are having a great time. We are leaving tomorrow so probobly will spend the day with her. She looks so good and is in really good health for 83. I love her.

We found a wonderful casino in Kinder, La called Coushatta. They had a lot of extras there such as a self service bar where you could help yourself to coffee, soft drinks, cappachino, teas, and even 2 flavors of icees. They even handed out boxes of popcorn while you were playing. I thought the place was really cool.

My friend Vicki did really well there, she couldnt seem to do any wrong. She sat down next to me and proceeded to win almost a 1000 dollars on a 2 coin bet. It was uphill from there. I just kept donating to the people. Anyhow, I was very jealous but glad somebody won. (of course I wished it was me)

Tomorrow we will be in our way to Mercedes for our month stint at Llano Grande. Vicki and Steve will be there so we should have a good time, they will be there for a couple weeks with us before they are on their way to New Mexico. We will see some of our other friends there as well. Going to play a lot of card, new games and old. Should be a good time.

I am really enjoying this lifestyle, its kind of fun just staying somewhere when you like it. This place is pretty nice and if I wasnt visiting family I could get into some activities here. They have many. Maybe next year. Who knows.

We are buffeting our way across the US and it is not good. Moo Moo Moo. Starting to crave veggies and fruit. We have decided no more fast food. We ate pretty healthy for a few days and we feel so much better. I have to stop drinking sweet tea so have tried ordering water instead. Man, that tea is yummy.

Missing my friends at home but not the weather, it is hard to believe there is snow somewhere and I have to keep reminding myself that it is January.

So, until we meet again..........happy trails my loves.
